ADHD Testing
More Clarity. More Objective Information. A More Complete Picture.
In-Office or Online | Children & Adults (Ages 12+)
ADHD can look different from one person to another. Difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, restlessness, impulsivity, procrastination, disorganization, or feeling chronically overwhelmed can all be part of the picture—but these experiences can have many causes.
At Mosaic Counseling, we believe a thoughtful ADHD evaluation should look at the whole person rather than relying on any single questionnaire or test.
That's why we offer QbTest, an FDA-cleared computerized assessment that provides objective information about attention, impulsivity, and activity. QbTest can be used as one part of a comprehensive ADHD evaluation to help you and your provider better understand what may be contributing to the difficulties you're experiencing.
What Is QbTest?
QbTest is a computer-based assessment designed for individuals ages 6–60. During the test, you complete a simple attention task while specialized technology measures your responses and movement.
The assessment measures three areas commonly associated with ADHD:
Attention — how consistently you attend and respond during the task
Impulsivity — patterns of responses that may indicate difficulty inhibiting a response
Activity — physical movement during the assessment
Your performance is compared with a normative group of individuals of the same age and sex at birth, giving your clinician objective information that can be considered alongside the other parts of your evaluation.
What Should I Expect?
The QbTest itself takes approximately 15–20 minutes. You'll sit at a computer and respond to visual stimuli while the system records your responses and movement.
There are no right or wrong "ADHD answers," and you don't need to prepare or study for the test. The goal is simply to see how you naturally perform during the task.
After testing, a report is generated that helps your provider understand your patterns of attention, impulsivity, and activity and how they compare with the appropriate normative group.
QbTest Can Also Help Evaluate Treatment
QbTest isn't limited to an initial ADHD assessment. In some situations, it can be repeated to provide objective information about how symptoms may be changing with treatment.
For someone taking ADHD medication or making other treatment changes, comparing results over time may give the prescribing provider another source of information when evaluating response to treatment.
ADHD Assessment at Mosaic Counseling
Our goal isn't simply to give you a test score. It's to help you better understand how your brain is functioning and what may help you move forward.
Your assessment may incorporate QbTest along with clinical history, symptom measures, interviews, and other information appropriate to your individual situation.
Whether you're an adult who has wondered about ADHD for years, a parent looking for answers for your child, or someone who wants a clearer understanding of ongoing attention and executive-function difficulties, we're here to help you make sense of the whole picture.
